What is PCA/CFSS?

PCA is a home care service under Minnesota’s Medical Assistance (MA) program that provides non-medical support with daily living activities. Services are offered through both Traditional PCA and PCA Choice, allowing flexibility for families to choose and manage their caregivers.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

  • Bathing, dressing, grooming
  • Eating and meal assistance
  • Toileting and incontinence care
  • Mobility, transfers, and repositioning

Health-Related Tasks:

  • Medication reminders

  • Other tasks delegated by a qualified health professional

Behavioral Support:

  • Monitoring and redirection
  • Positive reinforcement and behavior prompts

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs):

  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry and changing linens

Transportation assistance (arranging rides, accompanying to appointments)

Eligibility for PCA/CFSS Services
